Yesterday I visited our new listing at 19606 Spring Creek. This is a nice 3/2/2 home set on 9 acres of typical East Texas creek bottom forest. It's winter in Texas, but there were squirrels and birds about and as I checked the outside faucets (we've had some freezing weather this week) I heard one of the most interesting in the neighborhood, a pileated woodpecker. I only caught a glimpse of this big bird as he swooped from one tree to another. But I got to hear his distinctive call several times, and that is always a treat. It actually has a tropical jungle kind of call and I wonder if some sound men use it when adding background for jungle scenes.
